Hello Friends, another very simple craft…that can be made as creative as you wish.

Create your own halo….

Jesus told his disciples:
‘You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses to the ends of the Earth.’

***** Fifth Sunday After Easter ****

10th May 2020

CHILDREN'S ACTIVITY

Hello Friends, This week we will be thinking about John 14: 12.

‘the one who believes in me will also do the works that I do and, in fact, will do greater works than these’

  • You will need building blocks (Duplo, Lego or mega bloks).
  • The building blocks are the foundations provided by Jesus and our faith, you will do what Jesus said and build a ‘great work’ with these.
  • Maybe you want to build upwards and create a mighty tower?
  • Or instead build wide to welcome people from afar to your new land?

***** Fourth Sunday After Easter ****

3rd May 2020

Hello everyone. We have lots of activities for you this week. Remember when you've completed your activity, please take a photo and send it to family@stmichaelshighgate.org so we can display it in our gallery.

Activity 1

Click here to download Grace's activity FISH

Activity 2

Krupa has prepared two activities:
Word Search (Can you guess the secret Message?) - click here
Youth Discussions Sheet - click here

Activity 3

The first Christians had a secret sign of a fish. This stood for the Greek word for fish (Ichtus)

If you have this as an acrostic, it gives a message:

I       Iesus  (The Greek way of spelling Jesus)
CH   Christ
Th    Theous  of God
U      Uios      Son
S       Soter    Saviour

Can you make an acrostic linked to this week's reading from  Acts 2:42-47 ?  Here's an idea:

Christians learn about charity (loving your neighbour) from the teachings of Jesus:
Helping others brings happiness to our hearts
At this time we give thanks to those who risk their own health to help others

***** Easter Garden *****

12th April 2020

Anne Casson

I think this is my favourite Bible activity.

Capture

Here is an Easter Garden made by my grandson, Toby.

He used things he could get hold of easily, because it is not so easy this year to get specific things.

As you can see, he put some soil in a foil tray but you could use damp newspaper or sand; to make it a garden, he planted a daisy and some moss. He made a tomb out of an egg-box section, and cut out a stone to roll across the front. You could cut up a plastic tub, or use some stones from the garden.

There is a 'green hill' with three crosses on it.

On Easter morning, Toby will take away the stone over the tomb, and add some colourful flowers and sprigs of forsythia to celebrate that Jesus has risen from death.

Please make your own Easter Garden and send a picture of it to family@stmichaelshighgate.org

Pop Up Easter Card Display
