There are three choirs at St Michael's. Our choirs sing at the 9.30am services and evening Choral Communion and Choral Evensong. We regularly organise tours and cathedral visits - you can read about our latest trips here.
The Probationer Choir
The Probationer Choir is for boys and girls aged between 7-10 years old and is the feeder choir for the Parish Choir. They rehearse at church each week during choir term time for 45 minutes on Friday evenings and they join the Parish choir once a month to sing at the 9.30 Sunday service.
Choristers benefit from a free musical education following the RCSM's Voice for Life scheme, which incorporates aspects of music theory and singing technique and a wide repertoire of choral music into a fun learning environment.
The Parish Choir
The Parish Choir consists of children from age 10 and adults. They rehearse each Friday from 7pm - 8.30pm and sing at the 9.30am services, evening Choral Communion and Choral Evensong services each month, and at the major festivals.
The St Michael's Singers
The St Michael's Singers was formed by the current Director of Music, Paul Dean, in 2010 and is made up of high-calibre amateur and professional singers who wish to sing together but are unable to commit to a regular weekly rehearsal. In addition to their own engagements they join the Parish Choir each month for Choral Communion and Choral Evensong and at other special services from time to time.
